Is Rye Beer the New Beer of Fall?

Granted that in the grand scheme of things I’m a relatively new beer connoisseur but just recently I feel like I’ve noticed a whole lot more chatter around rye beers. We’ve talked about them here before. Over at Serious Eats, there’s a post about how rye beer may have taken the place of Marzen and Oktoberfest beers as the official beers of fall.
I’m not sure about that yet but what do you think?

In one of the latest episodes of Two Guys on Beer, Dave and Johnny dive into rye beers and sample Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye beer. It’s a pretty solid episode, especially if you’ve never heard had this kind of beer before.
