Beer above 8% ABV – A World of Beer Worth Exploring

Our friends over at the blog We Love DC have written a great piece about one of the great foods that you should try in your life is beer above 8% ABV or alcohol by volume.  I couldn’t agree more.

These more full bodied beers, which most people associate with coming from Belgium, have been taking American brewers by storm.  One of my favorites and one of the favorites of the writer of the piece is the Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA.  Another are the beers coming from the Stone Brewery.

What are your favorite beers that are above 8% ABV?

    Harpoon Leviathan's Imperial IPA 10%…. Amazing beer. Haven't found one that compares.
